Chess Club

District 191 schools have strong traditions of success among their chess clubs, including several state and national team championships. Coordinated by Brian Ribnick and run through One91 Community Education, all elementary schools have their own chess clubs.

Learning and playing chess is known to promote creativity and strategic thinking, and its a great opportunity for students to exercise their brains in a team and competitive atmosphere.

Safety Patrols

Each year, a group of fifth-grade students are chosen to represent the school as our safety patrol officers.  These student-leaders ensure that their peers safely board the school buses and use the crosswalks appropriately.
